Kindergarten Enrollment

Maricopa Unified School District is pleased to offer full-day kindergarten at no cost to parents for the 2017 – 2018 school year.  Kindergarten registration is available at your home school site. Students who will turn 5 by August 31st are eligible to enroll in Kindergarten.  You will need your child’s birth certificate, immunization records and a proof of residence for enrollment.

Help prepare your child for kindergarten  

The Early Childhood Standards from the Arizona Department of Education provide a framework of knowledge and skills
in which children need to possess in order to be a successful kindergarten student.

 

 

Early Entrance to Kindergarten

Age is a requirement for Kindergarten enrollment.  Maricopa Unified offers an early entrance, age exception for children who turn 5 between September 1st and December 31st.  All early kindergarten children must participate in a screening for acceptance.  Early entrance will be approved if the student demonstrates advanced academic skills and exceptional social and emotional maturity.  Parents and Guardians who wish to apply for early entrance are required to set up a screening appointment at the District Office.
