Dawniele Castellanos is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Arizona. She is a transplant from California and has lived in Arizona for the past 11 years. Dawniele received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Azusa Pacific University and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from California State University of Long Beach. Dawniele has worked with children, youth, and families since receiving her Master’s degree.

Dawniele has over 20 years practicing Social Work in a variety of settings and with diverse clients. Dawniele has worked with children and families in foster care, adoptions, group homes, and hospitals. Social Work in schools began six years ago. Dawniele, though, has found a home and place in Maricopa Unified School District #20 and has been with the district for 5 years.

Dawniele works primarily with students on IEP’s requiring additional behavior and emotional support in order to access their academics. Dawniele is also a Non-violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) trainer for the district.

Dawniele focuses on several therapy modalities when working with students, including: Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapies. Recently, Dawniele has become interested in helping Maricopa schools to create a trauma sensitive system focused on all student needs. Dawniele is most interested in how collaboration between schools, staff, students, and families in creating a positive learning environment for all students.

In her spare time, Dawniele can be seen in and around Maricopa with her family. Dawniele likes to travel, read, and go to movies. A few of Dawniele’s favorites things are: Chocolate, Coca~Cola, and Bacon (but, maybe, not in that order and perhaps not exclusive). Dawniele also enjoys photography.
