Project Hope - Shining Stars 2nd Annual Toy Drive

Beginning on December 2nd, Maricopa Unified School staff members and the Maricopa community began the 2nd Annual Project Hope Shining Stars Annual Toy Drive.  Staff and community members were asked to come to the District Office and pick a student’s name from the ‘Shining Stars’ ornaments on the Christmas Tree located in the front lobby.  Participants were then asked to purchase a present for the child who will then receive the gift during the week of December 15th through December 19th. Project Hope supports our K-12 students in our District who are experiencing homelessness.

In addition, employees from the Wells Fargo’s Auto Finance Department in Tempe helped to support Project Hope by placing toy collection boxes at their office location.  Staff from Wells Fargo assisted the drive on Tuesday December 16th by coming to the District Office and wrapped the students’ presents during the day.  District Homeless Liaison Teri Ponticello stated in her promotional flyer, “Thank you for helping to provide a happier holiday for our students who would otherwise go without!”  We are proud of the outstanding efforts of Wells Fargo, our community and staff by helping to make this a special season for these deserving students
