Rams' Football Team Wins Again - Ranked Tenth in State

The Maricopa High School Rams football team won their third consecutive game of the season by defeating Rincon University High School by a score of 56 to 0 last Friday night. Standout players included senior quarterback Isaiah Pedro who completed 13 of 15 pass attempts for 336 yards and four touchdowns in the Rams’ victory. Team captain Johnny Johnson Jr., caught four passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns and he also carried the ball three times for 67 yards and an additional touchdown. Junior wide receiver David Owens caught four passes for 99 yards and two touchdowns.

As a result of three wins and no losses so far this season, and by outscoring opponents 154 to 60 in those games, the Rams are the tenth ranked Division III team in the state this week, according to the Arizona Republic. “It's nice for the program and kids to be recognized, stated head coach Chris McDonald,  however, we focus on what we can control, which is how we practice daily and how we can get better.” (photo by
