District Recognizes Mr. Henry Wade with HOPE Award

 At the October monthly meeting of the Maricopa Unified School District’s Governing Board, Maricopa resident and City Council Member – Mr. Henry Wade was presented with the Heroes of Public Education (HOPE) award. The award was presented by Board President Ms. Patti Coutre to Mr. Wade for his outstanding commitment and unwavering advocacy for public education in Maricopa. The Heroes of Public Education (HOPE) award is part of a statewide effort by the Arizona School Boards Association to “spotlight educators, parents, legislators, business partners and community members that inspire and unconditionally influence students throughout Arizona.”  The HOPE campaign was created and launched by the Arizona School Boards Association as the annual theme to kickoff the 2015-16 school year.

Board President Coutre stated, “Councilman Henry Wade is being presented a HOPE certificate tonight, as he is a Hero of Public Education for the Maricopa Unified School District.  Congratulations to Henry Wade!”  Mr. Wade who was joined on Wednesday evening by his fiance, grandchildren, several fellow City Council Members and the City Manager commented that when faced with a decision where to send his grandchildren to school did not hesitate to choose Maricopa Unified Schools.  Thank you and congratulations Mr. Wade!
