MHS Mathematics Students Excel at CAC Competition

(Maricopa) Teachers from the Maricopa High School (MHS) Mathematics Department recently took 89 students to the 40th Annual Central Arizona College Math Competition at the Signal Peak Campus located in Coolidge. MHS Math Instructor Mr. Grant Hanks commented, “Our students did extremely well. We had 29 students qualify for the individual competition. Entry into the individual competition was earned by performing well (answering 7 questions) in the qualifying round.”

In the Individual Competition, Lauren Davis, finished in 3rd Place overall and Xander Benetiz was in the top 10.

It the team round, Conner & Carter Paine finished in 2nd place for Level 2 while Ethan Fawcett & Deon Robinson won 1st Place for Level 1.

With the solid results of our students, Maricopa High School finished in 3rd Place among all the schools that participated in the competition.  Congratulations!
