Jack Wallbrecht

Jack has a varied background from working in building maintenance, real estate, owning an HVAC/appliance repair business, certified as a boiler and pump technician. Later turned to education. Graduated from ASU with a degree in Elementary Education and taught 4th grade for 6 years. Worked in technology as a technician and later supervised the technology group in a local school distict. Earned M Ed, in Education Administration from NAU.

Jack came to Maricopa in 2001 to teach at the high school in the Career and Technical Education department in Media, Information Technology, and Computer Repair. Moved to the Assistant Principal and CTE Director in 2003 at Maricopa High School.

He has been active in Interactive Television, distance learning in Pinal County, Central Arizona College as a site coordinator and instructor.

John Hornketh

John has lived in Maricopa for over 24 years.  He has worked at Maricopa School District for 15 years as a bus driver/grounds, maintenance, and for the last nine years in the technology department as the senior technician. Before working at the School District, John was in construction for 18 years. His education is in programming specialist, PC repair and A+ Certified.  

John is married to Rochelle Hornketh and they have four children:  Jesse, Jeffrey, Justin, and Cassandra.

Amy Chayefsky

Amy is a Certified Teacher, with a minor in Business Administration, entering her twelfth year at Maricopa Unified. She is currently working toward her Masters Degree in 21st Century Adult Professional Development. She is specifically interested in: learning environments (virtual and physical) designed to positively impact learner performance; integration of alternative on-line communities, virtual (Second Life) collaboration and delivery of content; 21st Century learning skills for educators, administratos and students. 

Before joining MUSD, Amy had nearly 20 years experience in, Materials, Purchasing and Operations Management, primarily in the manufacturing industry. For the first six years at MUSD, Amy was the Elementary Computer Lab instructor, when there was only ONE Elementary Computer Lab. In 2003, Amy joined the Technology Department where she acts as Technology Integration Specialist and Educational Technology Coordinator. She is a Savvy Cyber Teacher Mentor Teacher, iSafe Certified Trainer and District Coordinator for and Board member of Pinal County ITv Consortium through which MUSD students participate in a wide range of videoconferencing opportunities. Amy is Co-Chair of the AzTEA Eastside Chapter, sits on their Board and Planning and Advocacy CommitteeAzTEA is a statewide association of volunteer educators who are passionate about supporting other educators in developing their technology integration and 21st Century skills.  During the Spring and Summer 2008, Amy is also an active member of the Arizona Department of Education ‘Technology Standards Revision Task Force’.  She is a member of ISTE and SDCAz.

Stephen Leftwich

Stephen Leftwich is the recent addition to the MUSD Technology Department. Stephen comes from a varied work history which includes automotive repair, industrial manufacturing, residential construction, warehouse and inventory, as well as differing roles as a field service technician.

Stephen has been involved in computing and technology as a personal hobby as well as fulfilling technology support needs on the job since 1998.

In accomplishing a long term goal to join a technology department full time, Stephen is very pleased to now be a part of MUSD.

Stephen has been a Maricopa resident since 2005 with his wife Jessica and their three children - Avery, Deztini, and Nezerae.

Chris Bracken

Chris Bracken recently returned to his position in the MUSD technology department, after a hiatus in Flagstaff.  Chris has been working in the technology field for over 3 years now after serving in the armed forces in Iraq as a Nuclear , Biological, Chemical decontamination specialist, and participating in Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom with the 75th exploitation task force in search of weapons of mass destruction.  Chris has 2 children, Savannah and Christopher.  Chris enjoys spending time with his family and the outdoors year round.
