Message from Principal- Dr. Hasan

  • Hello Super Stallions!

I am Dr. Marchelle Hasan, the principal of Saddleback Elementary School. I am pleased to welcome you to the 2021-22 school year. I would like to extend a special welcome to our new families and welcome back all of our returning Saddleback families. I am pleased that you have chosen our school for your child’s education. It is an honor and a privilege to be able to serve you and your students.

Dr. Marchelle Hasan Saddleback is a great place! Our teachers are committed to providing a high quality learning experience focused on meeting the individual needs of each child. The academic success of your child is important to us.

Teachers will help students be successful by setting high expectations, providing interventions and utilizing researched-based curriculum. Teachers will regularly collaborate and incorporate a diverse array of strategies and activities to ensure student achievement is attained.

Students will be taught to critically think, problem solve and collaborate with peers. This will be accomplished by making informed decisions, effectively listening, and articulating their thoughts and ideas with others daily inside and outside of the classroom through Whole Brain learning, Kagan Structures, and Thinking Maps. Additionally, acquiring technological skills to become a digital citizen will continue to be a part of all Kindergarten-5th grade classrooms.

During the school year I encourage you to take an active role in your child’s learning. Parent involvement plays a critical role in our school’s success. Ways to support and increase your child’s academic success include:

    • Make attendance a PRIORITY including limiting tardiness and absences
    • Check Parent Portal regularly to stay informed of student progress
    • Communicate often with your child’s homeroom teacher
    • Read with your child at least 20 minutes a day
    • Limit television and social media, encourage outside play
    • Review the school day with your child

One of the best parts of my job is building positive relationships with students, families, and staff. It is a priority for me to be in the hallways, classrooms, and playground getting to know your child. Student success is attributed to the partnership and relationships we build. It truly takes a village! My door is always open. Do not hesitate to call or email to schedule an appointment should you ever feel the need to do so. I am looking forward to a promising school year and working with you and your students.

    Best Regards,

    Dr. Marchelle Hasan, Principal
