Benefits and Compensation
MUSD offers several medical, dental, and vision benefit plans. All full-time employees are eligible for benefits. The district pays for the employee’s base medical coverage. Additional buy-up and dental/vision plans are available for an additional cost to the employee. Employees may purchase dependent and spouse coverage at an additional cost.
- Certified employees are eligible for coverage on the 1st day of the month following their hire.
- Classified/Support staff are eligible for coverage on the 1st day of the month following 60 calendar days post hire.
- In addition to our medical, dental, and vision benefits, the district carries a $50,000 employee life and AD&D policy on every full-time employee. Employees may purchase additional voluntary life insurance.
- Supplemental benefits are also available with additional employee costs.

A full-time employee who is covered by the District's health benefits plan and who is terminating employment with the District will have insurance coverage until the final day of the last month of employment.
Compensation plans and employee work calendars are updated upon Governing Board approval.
