Ms. Molly Colgan

My name is Molly Colgan, and I am excited to continue to serve the Maricopa Unified School District team this year as a school counselor at Desert Sunrise High School. I was born and raised in Arizona and cannot imagine calling anywhere else home. I first realized that I wanted to go into the field of education while I was in the sixth grade, and I never strayed from this path. I graduated from Northcentral University with my Bachelor's in Secondary Education - English in 2015. I became an 8th grade English Language Arts teacher in Phoenix and later returned to school myself and received my Master's of Education degree in School Counseling from Ottawa University. From 2019-2022, I worked as a counselor at Desert Wind Middle School, and then transferred over to Desert Sunrise High School in the fall of 2022.

In my spare time, I like to read, write, learn, and travel cross-country by train. I am looking forward to working with Desert Sunrise students, their families, and school/district staff!
