Dear Coyote Families,
On behalf of the staff, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Santa Cruz Elementary School website. We pride ourselves on our “Howl-rific” vision of success.
H - Honesty - We hold ourselves and each other accountable with honesty and integrity. To move in the direction of success, we must first be honest about the challenges we face and the decisions we make.
O - Optimism - We view challenges and mistakes as opportunities for discovery and learning. We encourage positive attitudes and practice optimism daily so we can reach our goals for success.
W - Wisdom - We make wise choices always. We ask ourselves and each other if the choices we are making will help us reach our goals. If we cannot answer yes then we choose a way that will.
L - Leadership - We are leaders because we practice honesty, optimism, and wisdom always. We practice character traits that result in achievement. We lead ourselves and our community toward life-long success
Santa Cruz Elementary School is a community dedicated to preparing students for the future. We believe in educating the whole child which means providing academic, physical, cognitive, social, and emotional opportunities for development. In addition to our academic curriculum, we also have a Social Curriculum focused on building a positive classroom environment built on strong relationships with teachers and classmates. We are also a PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) school. We have clear expectations for being respectful, responsible, and safe in all areas of school with additional supports available for those that need a little more TLC. Music, Art, and PE are classes that support our academic classes and develop well rounded students. There are many opportunities for enrichment through student activities such as Student Council, Robotics, and Running Club.
As a community school, we are happy to welcome the first chapter of the Boys & Girls Club in Maricopa. This will be a wonderful resource for our students and families. We look forward to the successful growth of this program.
Each staff member takes the responsibility of teaching your child to heart. We invite you to join us in bringing our mission and vision to fruition. Join PTO, Site Council, or feel free to contact me with ideas, questions, or concerns. I look forward to getting to know your children and families.
