Tia Kannapel

Tia has been coaching volleyball at a high level for 11 years. She has spent many years coaching in both the high school and club realms, with her last season being spent at Maricopa high School. Prior to Maricopa High, Tia was the Varsity head coach at Fountain Hills high School and the Varsity assistant at Arcadia High School. Her training began when she worked under the ASU coaching staff for three seasons and helped run camps and clinics at a collegiate level. She also had the privilege to play at the collegiate level, contributing to her team as a six-rotation player, captain and MVP. She has spent her time working with kids from ages 10-18. Not only working on individual skills, but the recruiting process. She has been able to watch a lot of her kids continue their playing careers from the Junior College level to contributing to Division 1 programs. Tia is thankful to be a part of the Maricopa Ram Family and is hoping to bring some of her coaching knowledge to the youth here. She hopes to create a strong sense of pride not only within the volleyball programs but with our wonderful community. When coach isn't in the gym, she spends her time with her son, Jaxson.
