Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Karen Vieira

I am Karen Vieira, the TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignment-Assistant Principal). I have been in education for over 20 years. I previously worked for the district in the ABC program at Santa Rosa as well as an Academic Coach at Pima Butte. For the last five years, I was living and working in rural upstate New York as a Reading Specialist and as a Principal. I am so excited to be back in Arizona and being given the opportunity to use all of my skills in the role of TOSA.

I received my undergraduate degree at Molloy College in education, my first Master’s Degree at Roosevelt University in Chicago in Language and Literacy and my second Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership through Grand Canyon University.

I am married to a wonderful man and raising my teenage daughter who is attending MHS (GO RAMS!). I have a dog, a cat and soon will have my chickens back. I am an avid reader, love a good movie, and have a passion for vintage trucks and cars, as well as a rather large collection of chicken and rooster collectibles throughout my house. Friends and family mean everything to me, and it feels good to be back home with them in Arizona.

I am so excited to be a Coyote here at Santa Cruz, and I am thrilled to be a part of this amazing group of students and teachers as well as the families of this community!
