Health is essential to optimal learning; the Maricopa Unified Health Services Staff provides support and services to manage students with illnesses and accidents that occur during the school day. Licensed nurses and health assistants strive to ensure all students achieve their potential in school, career and life by unifying students, staff, and curriculum and community in a safe, supportive, challenging, empowering and innovative learning environment.

When meeting the student's health needs during the school day, health office staff also use the opportunity to teach students to make healthy choices that will be beneficial to their future health.
