Dr. Robinson was born and raised in Orchard Park, New York. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Cortland State College and her Master's in Exceptional Education from Buffalo State College. She completed her Doctorate and Principal certification through Arizona State University. In 2004, she achieved National Board Certification as an Early Childhood Generalist and is very proud of that accomplishment. She and her husband taught in New York before relocating to Arizona in 2001. She has been in education for more than 20 years and has been principal at Maricopa Elementary School since 2012.

In her spare time she enjoys gardening, reading, running, sports and spending time with her family. Her favorite professional sports teams are the Buffalo Bills, New York Yankees and Buffalo Sabres. She and her husband have three dogs Zeus, Echo and Loki and since she is an avid runner, she is usually up very early every day walking/running with them.

Dr. Robinson has been instrumental in developing the Leader in Me program at MES, in which our scholars learn the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Every scholar has the opportunity to become a leader - from Kindergartners all the way up to 6th grade. Many students in each classroom have special leadership roles such as classroom greeter, telecommunications specialist (answers phone), equipment manager, technology liaison, class mediator and many more.

She also began calling upon our scholars to become schoolwide leaders called SOSA's (Scholars on Special Assignment). These scholars are responsible for even greater leadership roles such as greeting visitors to assemblies; taking new scholars, parents and other guests on tour of the school; interviewing SOSA candidates and even helping with the interviewing process for new teachers.

Dr. Robinson has been a great asset to MES and we are very lucky to have her leading our staff and scholars. She is a committed leader and expects everyone, from the newest kindergartner to the most seasoned staff member to take responsibility for their actions and be examples of what a leader should be! She is professional when necessary but also has a fun personality, which we love about her.
