Hello Super Stallions!
I am Dr. Marchelle Hasan, the principal of Saddleback Elementary School.
I am pleased to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year. I have been at Saddleback for 11 years; 7 years as Assistant Principal and this will be my 4th year as Principal.
I am so delighted that you are part of our amazing learning community. I welcome and value your positive energy and dedication to excellence in education.
There will be many opportunities to connect throughout the school year. Opportunities include email, phone calls, along with school-wide events during the school year. Strong family engagement is important to the success of students. During the school year I encourage you to take an active role in your child’s learning. Every parent can help their child be prepared and responsible in school. Ways to support and increase your child’s academic success include:
- Make attendance a PRIORITY including limiting tardiness and absences. Students should be on time and present every day
- Reinforce the importance of doing their best in school
- Check ParentVue regularly to stay informed of student progress
- Communicate often with your child’s homeroom teacher
Not only is academic achievement important to us at Saddleback, but so is helping students make good choices and be productive students as well. With this in mind, Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) will be revisited to proactively clarify and remind students of expectations during the school day. Our school-wide rules are Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe. These rules can be applied to any situation that may arise. Your reinforcement and support of these expectations will help create a positive school environment.
One of the best parts of my job is building positive relationships with students, families, and staff. It is a priority for me to be in the hallways, classrooms, and playground getting to know your child. Student success is attributed to the partnership and relationships we build. It truly takes a village! My door is always open. Do not hesitate to call or email to schedule an appointment should you ever feel the need to do so. I wish every member of the Stallion family a year filled with happiness and a positive educational experience.
Best Regards,
Dr. Marchelle Hasan, Principal
