    July 1, 2020

I am honored and excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Maricopa High School!  It is a privilege to have been selected to serve this community and I look forward to collaborating with the staff, students and families of MHS as we inspire our students through collaboration, critical thinking, creativity and innovation.

As the daughter of a secondary English teacher and high school counselor, I was inspired to become a teacher early on.  I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Art Education from Northern Arizona University and Masters’ Degree in Administrative Leadership from Grand Canyon University. For the past 20 years I have proudly served the diverse Northern Arizona communities of Holbrook and Winslow.  In addition to being a dedicated educator, I am devoted to my family.  I am a mother to three daughters and two dogs.

I am passionate about fairness, high standards and believing the best in people.  I am committed to nurturing a safe and inviting environment that fosters discovery by allowing people to feel safe to learn and grow.  I will always offer my best and will encourage others to do the same, particularly to our kids.  I cherish this opportunity to be part of the diverse Maricopa community and join the #RamNation family.  But, I am most excited about the work we will do together as we “prepare today's learners for tomorrow's opportunities”.

    Stay safe and healthy,

    Deana McNamee
